FAYETTEVILLE -  According to the Boost Treadmill Cross Country polls the University of Arkansas boasts the best cross country teams in college athletics.

Coach Chris Bucknam’s Razorbacks men this week climbed to the No. 1 spot in the men’s poll that Coach Lance Harter’s Razorbacks women continue holding in the women’s poll.

Both teams impressed beating fields in last weekend’s UAB Blazer Classic hosted by the University of Alabama-Birmingham.

Unfortunately because so many teams and conferences cancelled their fall sports seasons because of coronavirus concerns there won’t be a NCAA Cross Country Championship season for the Razorbacks to test their No. 1 rankings.

Harter’s Razorbacks, the defending NCAA and SEC champion, defend their SEC title at the Oct. 30 SEC Championships in Baton Rouge, La.

Bucknam’s Razorbacks on Oct. 30 in Baton Rouge seek reclaiming the SEC Men’s title they won from 2010-2017 but were edged by Ole Miss in 2018 and 2019.

The SEC meet ends both teams’ cross country season.
