As Pafford takes over Hope's hospital, its signs change, too
Thursday afternoon at the now renamed Southwest Arkansas Regional Medical Center, the results of work toward the change over to Pafford ownership of the hospital's operating license could already be seen.

The word Wadley has been removed from the front of the hospital and signs at the roadsides of South Main and East 20th Streets have also been changed as of Thursday.

Plans are being made for a ceremony to mark the name change.  Keep an eye on SWARK.Today for the announcement of when it will take place.

The hospital had been owned by Steward Healthcare, a Dallas-based company that is now in bankruptcy proceedings in a federal court in Houston.  This past week Judge Christopher Lopez approved the purchase of the license to operate the hospital by Pafford Health Systems and the purchase of the real estate in which the hospital operates by the city of Hope and by Hempstead County.
