Bobcats Welcome #1 Ranked Parkview to Hammons Stadium Friday Night
Hope- The Bobcats 2-3 (1-1) welcome #1 ranked Parkview 5-0 (2-0) to Hammons Stadium Friday night as they look to do what now team has done this season, knock off the Patriots. Parkview comes in as the talk of the entire state of Arkansas after they knocked off unanimous #1 Bryant on the road in week one of the season. Coach Phillip Turner spoke Wednesday on Parkview, “They have athletes everywhere on the field, but upfront is where they concern me the most. Their size and strength and speed has been a problem for everyone this season.” Offensively, the Bobcats are coming off a game where nothing was working on that side of the ball. “This week we’re going to try and get the ball out quick and spread the ball around”, Turner said as we were talking offense Wednsday. The Bobcats offensive line will have a lot to say on how this game goes Friday, if they can block the defensive front of Parkview and give Tyler enough time, the offense has an opportunity to put up some numbers this week. WR Isaac Love has been a mismatch all season for opposing DBs and I’m sure will be ready for the challenge this week. Turner said, “They put their pants on just like we do, we’re going to come out and play hard.”

Defensively, Hope will look to forget about last weeks’ game, as that was by far their worst outing of this season, as the Bobcat defense has been excellent all season prior to last week. This conference is the best 5A Conference in the state and if you don’t show up ready every Friday games like last week can happen. Coach Johnathan Turner spoke defense Wednesday, “Everyone has to do their assignments Friday to give ourselves a chance.” Sidney Ross could be a key defensive player in this game, if he can get to Parkview QB Eric McGehee and make him uncomfortable. KD Gulley, Juan Ortiz, and Jalen Staggers have been great all season, and I know they are hungry to get out there and make plays to help their team win. “Last week we came out flat, got hit in the mouth and didn’t respond the way we have all year”, Coach Johnathan Turner mentioned. It’s no secret how great of a team Parkview is, and the Bobcats are going to get hit, but I believe they will fight back this week in front of the home crowd and give themselves a shot at a huge upset. Coach Phillip Turner said, “Wednesday was the best practice we’ve had this week, we know we have to play dang near perfect to upset them, but we are up for the challenge.” Kick-Off is set for 7pm on Friday night.
