WASHINGTON – Next week, U.S. Senator John Boozman (R-AR) will continue his August tradition of traveling the state on his annual agriculture tour in an effort to highlight the industry’s importance in Arkansas.
Additionally, Boozman - who has spent the last few weeks visiting hospitals and talking to frontline health care heroes about their needs as they continue to provide care for Arkansans during the COVID-19 public health crisis - will make a few similar stops in communities he is traveling through.

Event: Visit to American Vegetable Soybean & Edamame, Inc.
Time: 8 a.m.

Mulberry
Boozman will tour the AVSE plant in Mulberry where they process, package and distribute edamame in a variety of products.
Event: Tour Petit Jean Meats
Time: 10:30 a.m.
Location: 51 Blue Diamond Drive
Morrilton
Boozman will tour the facility, including a recent $2.1 million expansion which created 40 new jobs.

Boozman will visit with the owners of this veteran-owned family farm started in 1996 to raise 100% organic, grass-fed beef.

Event: Broadband announcement with Craighead Electric Cooperative

Boozman will join U.S. Representative Rick Crawford (AR-01) to announce federal investment in a project that will connect more than 2,300 users to broadband and build and improve 348 miles of line.

Lake City
Boozman will visit the owners of Delta Farms and Southland Gin to discuss the state’s first agricultural energy project combining two different solar technologies. The project is a partnership with Craighead Electric Cooperative and Today’s Power, Inc.

Event: Visit to CrossRidge Community Hospital

Boozman will meet with leadership and staff of the hospital to discuss COVID-19 challenges and response. He will also help recognize a local Healthcare Hero.
Event: Tour Lon Mann Cotton Research Station
Time: 11 a.m.

Marianna
This facility conducts more than 30 research projects each year and is best known for developing cotton cultivators. Boozman will tour the station and visit with staff about their work.

Des Arc
This sawmill recently expanded to a second line to support products for construction, logging, and environmental companies. Boozman will tour the operation and visit about the impact the current health crisis is having on small businesses and these industries.
