Hempstead County Fair Secretary, Renay May spoke to SWARK.Today about the fair schedule. “The chamber coffee today is for exhibitors to meet and greet potential buyers for their projects. Today, the animals will in place this afternoon by 5pm and the check-in and weigh-in begins at 6. On Thursday all the exhibits are on display inside the art barn, the pen heifer show will start at four, the livestock show will start at five with the poultry, rabbits, goats, sheep, cattle, ending with the swine. On Friday, the premium sale luncheon starting at 11:30am then the auction will being at 12pm. They will still have exhibits on display until 1pm and everyone will check out at 2pm. We hope to see everyone at the premium sale to help our exhibitors with their projects for the Hempstead County Fair,” May said.
Executive Director of the Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, Christy Burns said, “The Hempstead County Fair is always a big deal here in the South We have many farmers and growers in our area, and it gives them to chance to show their prized animals. The same for the artists in our community. They get the opportunity to have people see their talent, and all can take their ribbons and move on to compete at the Third District Fair,” Burns said.
