FAYETTEVILLE -  Two-year University of Arkansas Razorbacks basketball letterman Reggie Chaney announced Monday his transfer to the University of Houston.

A 6-8 center/forward from Tulsa lettering in 2018-2019 as a freshman for former Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson and lettering in 2019-2020 for Arkansas Coach Eric Musselman, Chaney last week submitted his name into the NCAA transfer portal.

“These past two years being an Arkansas Razorback have been a wonderful experience,” Chaney posted Monday on Twitter. “With that being said, I have decided to further my academic and athletic career at the University of Houston. I would like to thank Coach Anderson and his staff for recruiting me as well as Coach Musselman and his staff for developing me further. To my teammates, thank you for pushing me each and everyday in practice. All the memories we have I will cherish for life. Lastly, thank you to all the Razorback fans for your unconditional love and support. It has been a pleasure to play at Bud Walton Arena. Excited to see what this next chapter has for me!"

Mostly as the backup for All-SEC center and current Chicago Bull Daniel Gafford,Chaney played 29 games for Anderson’s 2018-2019 Razorbacks averaging 4.1 points,  3.3 rebounds and 14.6 minutes.

For Musselman’s Razorbacks Chaney played 34 games for Coach Eric Musselman’s Razorbacks averaging 5.4 points, 3.5 rebounds  and 16.3 minutes.

At 6-8, Chaney and junior-to be forward Ethan Henderson were the tallest Razorbacks on last season’s roster that usually opened with 6-6 2019-2020 senior Adrio Bailey as their tallest starter.

Musselman’s Razorbacks vastly increased their size activating 7-3 sophomore center Connor Vanover, redshirting last year upon transferring from the University of California, and signing 6-9 graduate transfer forward Vance Jackson from the University of New Mexico, 6-7 graduate transfer forward Justin Smith from Indiana University,  and highly touted 6-9 freshman forward Jaylin Williams from Fort Smith Northside.

Also another 6-8 forward,  Abayomi Iyiola, activates in 2020-2021 as after redshirting at Arkansas last season transferred from Stetson University.
