FAYETTEVILLE - David Patrick, Eric Musselman’s top assistant as associate head coach, is leaving the Razorbacks’ men’s basketball staff after one year to become an assistant coach at Oklahoma under new Sooners Coach Porter Moser.
Earlier this spring second-year Arkansas assistant Corey Williams left to become an assistant under new Texas Tech Coach Mark Adams.
Musselman this week hired Gus Argenal, a former Musselman assistant at the University of Nevada, to replace Williams.
As Patrick departs, one of his recruits, junior transfer forward Akol Mawein, requested and was granted a release from his signature with Arkansas to play elsewhere.
Also Arkansas forward Abayomi Iyiola who had played two years for Williams when Williams head coached Stetson University, announced Tuesday on social media he’s submitting his name into the NCAA transfer portal.
Iyiola redshirted in 2019-2020 upon transferring from Stetson to Arkansas and then severely injured a knee during the 2020-2021 preseason.
Iyiola was able to resume practice late in the season and got to play the last two minutes of the March 2 101-73 victory over South Carolina and recorded one rebound.
