FAYETTEVILLE - Arkansas redshirt freshman outfielder, Trey Harris, became Wednesday the sixth Razorbacks player off the 2020 team submitting his name to the NCAA transfer portal.
An alum of Little Rock Christian, Harris hit .257 as a reserve on Coach Dave Van Horn’s 2019 College World Series Razorbacks. Harris was on course to redshirt and not played for the 2020 Razorbacks, 11-5 before all spring sports were cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic
.Previously Razorbacks sophomore outfielder Curtis Washington, freshman infielder Jesse Pearce, and pitchers Collin Taylor, Travis Hester and Kevin Heinrich has submitted their names in the transfer portal.
An abundance of transfers is expected throughout college baseball with rosters expanded to accommodate the customary recruiting class signed in November and April plus the restoring the 2020 eligibility of all players including seniors for 2021. Additionally, many draft eligible juniors who would have signed in the traditional 40-rounds Major League draft in will be returning to school since the June draft has been reduced to just five rounds.
