Downtown Live Brings Music, Art, and Bargains to Texarkana’s Historic District
Texarkana, USA – Join Main Street Texarkana on Friday, June 14 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. for another fantastic Downtown Live. Downtown shops and restaurants are offering great deals while local artists and musicians share their talents on the historic streets of downtown Texarkana! Downtown LIve is a free community event held every 2nd Friday of the month. Downtown Live takes place in the Entertainment District of Historic Downtown Texarkana from 6:00 - 9:00 pm on the second Friday of every month. During the event, visitors can enjoy artists producing unique works live. This month, Texarkana artists Colton Barker and Hadlei Givens add color to Broad Street with works-in-progress. Jewelry artist Samantha Snow will also be on hand. 

All across Broad, Olive, and Main Streets there will be live music provided by local bands and performers. Railhead Ned, Bryan Gafford, Ted Stone & Smitty, Allen Flemming, Special Reserve, Cody Wayne, and Blake Morriss are all scheduled to perform that evening. Among those appearing on June 14 are sisters Annabelle and Sadie Harp who perform as the aptly named duo, Broadstreet. 

“We are so excited to have the opportunity to perform in and for our community,” says Annabelle. “As young musicians, we are grateful for the support and the fact that we have an event like Downtown Live! to be a part of.” 

In addition to live music and art, downtown businesses offer special promotions exclusive to Downtown Live. This month at Let There Be Design at Hart’s on Broad, customers who purchase $50 or more of any merchandise will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate. Many more businesses and restaurants will be open later to celebrate downtown including Crystal Moon, The Stained Page, and Emmy P’s Bistro.

“This event is family-friendly and free to the public,” says Ina McDowell, Director of Main Street Texarkana. “It’s a great way to experience the vibrant community and local culture of Texarkana.”

Main Street Texarkana hosts Downtown Live every 2nd Friday of the month. This organization, accredited through the National Main Street program, is a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization which combines economic development with historic preservation. The Main Street Texarkana District encompasses historic downtown Texarkana, USA and is the only two-state program in the country.
