FAYETTEVILLE - On Twitter Friday, heralded Arkansas Razorbacks women’s basketball freshman Elauna Eaton confirmed she has undergone knee surgery repairing a torn anterior cruciate ligament.
Eaton will miss the 2020-2021 season and restart her Razorbacks career as a freshman in 2021-2022.
On Oct. 14 Arkansas Coach Mike Neighbors had said Eaton was beset with a health issue that would affect her 2020-2021 campaign.
“She is dealing with an injury,” Eaton said. “We’ll know more in a couple of weeks. It will obviously affect her playing time when we know what direction she is headed.”
A Helena native and star at Nettleton High School upon moving to Jonesboro, Eaton, a 6-foot guard, was named the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette High School Player of the Year averaging 23.9 points and 7.9 rebounds per game her senior season for Nettleton’s state championship team.
