Gentiva Personal Care, formally known as Kindred at Home, held a ribbon cutting ceremony this morning to celebrate a new location and name. With a hot chocolate bar that included chocolate and peppermint spoons, plus merry décor in honor of the upcoming holiday, guests were treated to a festive atmosphere at this ceremony. Before activities moved outside for the cutting of the ribbon, Mayor Don Still shared a few words; he complimented the Gentiva team on their new office and welcomed them to downtown. Tiny Miss Hempstead County and Petite Miss Hempstead County were also in attendance to celebrate the occasion, as well as spread a little Christmas cheer.
Jeanne Smith, manager at Gentiva, said that the staff was looking forward to beginning this new chapter. "We are excited," Smith said. "Gentiva is personal care whereas Kindred was community care, and I think most people will understand personal care better and will think of an aid or help in the home when they hear our name. We want everyone to know that we are still the same people and still give the same loving care we did as Kindred Community Care, plus continue to spread the word that there are aid services available right here that can help with a mom, dad, handicapped child, and more etc."
Gentiva Personal Care is located at 203 South Main St in downtown Hope. Anyone who would like to know more about the services offered, call 8704746710.
