From the Hempstead County Sheriff's Office:
Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton announced the promotions of three deputies today.
Patrol Deputy Derick Bunn, a twelve-year veteran of the Sheriff’s office, will assume the duties of Patrol Sergeant. Sgt. Bunn will be responsible for the scheduling and assigning of personnel in the Patrol Division. Sgt. Bunn will supervise the evening shift.
Patrol Sergeant Michel Braddock, a 15-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, is promoted to Patrol Lieutenant. Lt. Braddock will oversee the day-to day operations of the patrol division, and he will be responsible for the Mini Step Grant Program, School Resource Officers, fleet maintenance and equipment upkeep.
Jail CID Sergeant Justin Crane, a 15-year veteran of the Sheriff’s Office, is being promoted to Captain in the CID division. Captain Crane will be responsible for the day-to day operation of the Criminal Investigation Division in both the Hempstead County Jail and Sheriff’s office. He will supervise other investigators and be responsible for all administrative aspects of the Criminal Investigation Division. Captain Crane will work closely with the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office to ensure criminal case files are submitted in a timely manner and victims are kept up to date on their cases. Captain Crane will also be assigned administrative duties at the discretion of the Sheriff.
