Hope Cross Country Team has Great Showing in DeQueen
DeQueen- The Hope Cross Country team had their first meet of the season in DeQueen Tuesday afternoon and had great results including 4 members of the Bobcat varsity and Jr. Team and 3 members of the Lady Cat varsity squad finishing Top-15 and medaling. This group has put in a lot of hardwork throughout the offseason, including a bunch of the athletes participating in multiple 5K races on their own this summer. Medalist from the Varsity Girls include Madelyne Maclaughlin finished a team high 4th place overall and ran an excellent race, Brianna Maclaughlin ran great and finished in 6th place, and Miracle Martinez finished the race strong to hold off another opponent to secure a medal and earn 15th place.

On the boys’ side of the meet Brian Jimenez got his year off to a great start finishing 5th overall and Alex Hernandez also had a great start to the year with 9th place finish. The Jr. Boys had some great showings as Nathan Sanchez ran an impressive race and finished 2nd overall and Oswaldo Alvarado placed finished strong and earned 9th place. Coach Marshall and Coach Dominguez were both very pleased with the results and look forward to improving as the year progresses. The Bobcat and Lady Cat XC squad will run again this Saturday in Magnolia at the SAU campus.
