Hope High School Band drops new hype video
The anticipation for performances of the Hope High School band is building as practice and rehearsals have already started for the fall show, which will be seen at Hope Bobcat football halftimes and marching contests as the leaves change color.

Wednesday, new Assistant Band Director Bryan Silva posted “2024 Hope HS Hype Video” to Youtube, a video he himself made that features footage from practices and rehearsals of the several sections within the band, including percussion, flag corps, rifle corps, low brass, wood winds, drum majors and more. There are even some sequences of down time when the band members look happy to be involved in this year’s preparations.

Bryan Silva’s hiring was announced on the Hope Public Schools Bands facebook site July 17th. A native of Princeton, Texas, he graduated from Henderson State University’s Instrumental Education program, specializing in flute. “He has participated in several groups including the Wind Ensemble, HSU Orchestra, HSU Flute Choir, HSU Brass Band and HSU Choir, as a performer or composer/arranger,” the announcement said. As well as assistant directing, he will be working with the band’s color guard.

The video ends with looks like a tease of this year’s show’s new theme, a stylized image of a peacock next to the word Juno. What it portends, we will be left wondering until early this fall.
