Hope XC Team Very Impressive at Taylor Wade Invitational
Texarkana- The Lady Cat and Bobcat Cross Country teams competed at Trinity Christian this Saturday, 381 combined athletes were running in the Varsity Girls and Boys and Jr. Girls and Jr. Boys events. Hope had excellent results including winning the Jr. Boys title and also saw 4 athletes medal in a crowded field. For Varsity boys Brian Jimenez earn 5th place. Jimenez has now finished Top-8 in every race this year.  Aniell Felipe came in 12th place, Kevin Lozano was 22nd, Rey Retana 25th, and Kelvin Ocampo came in 28th, to earn a 3rd place team finish behind Atlanta and Magnolia. Nathan Sanchez ran away with the Jr. Boys race and claimed 1st place overall, he has now been top-3 in every race this year. Jose Juanes came in 14th place, Dylan Mercado was 21st, Geraldo Rodriguez 42nd, and Jonathan Hernandez 44th to round out the team scores that won the event. 

 

Saturday was also another great day for the Lady Cats XC squad, following up their Lois Davis Invitational title with very good outing. Madelyne Maclaughlin was excellent Saturday as she finished 5th, Madelyne has now been in the Top-5 every race this season. Brianna Maclaughlin secured 9th place and Brianna has now finished every race in the Top-10 this season. Miracle Martinez finished in 20th as she was very impressive Saturday, Audrey Mercado was 22nd, and Ari Juanes finished 24th. The Lady Cats team placed 2nd overall, behind a very good Atlanta squad. In the Jr. Girls, Sophia Johnson finished 16th, Allison Yhoss finished 33rd, Samantha Castillo 34th, Kimberly Retana 45th. The Hope XC team will run at Genoa Central this Saturday.
