Press Release

Little Rock, AR – Senate candidate Jake Bequette released the following statement after adding Phillips County election officials to his lawsuit surrounding the thousands of Arkansas ballots in multiple counties that fraudulently and incorrectly identify Bequette:

“Before early voting even began, Arkansas election officials knew that my name was going to be listed inaccurately on thousands of ballots in multiple counties, and they still chose to do nothing. That’s not only a violation of Arkansas law, it’s an insult to the people of Arkansas. Arkansans deserve better. They deserve to be able to participate in elections confidently and with the knowledge that those overseeing our elections are dedicated to a secure and accurate process. That clearly hasn’t happened in Phillips County, Craighead County, and potentially other counties, and I will not rest until there’s been accountability for this debacle.”

Bequette also announced that his team had submitted FOIA requests to get to the bottom of what these election officials knew and when they knew it. Bequette’s legal team is requesting all communications between the Secretary of State, State Election Board officials, all county election officials, and all campaigns for U.S. Senate regarding correctness to ballot issues and public notices regarding Jake Bequette.

Bequette continued, “Arkansas voters have a right to know how long these election officials chose to hide the truth about the widespread inaccuracies on unknown thousands of ballots. I will continue to fight for transparency in government and for election integrity so that these errors never happen to any candidate in Arkansas ever again.”
