Jr. Blue Jays Claim Paul Noesser Championship with Big Win Over Kirby
Blevins- The Blue Jays walked in the gym on Thursday night on a mission and by the end of the game, the mission was completed. Nevada ran the Jr. Trojans out of the gym, from start ot finish, as the Jays led by 25 at the half and cruised to the Paul Noesser Tournament Championship as they beat Kirby 48-31. After the game, Nevada's Jakari Roberson spoke on the win, "It feels good to hold this trophy and say we won, we pushed the ball, we boxed out, and we made our layups, and got after it on defense." Roberson finished the night with 11 points and had numerous assists and rebounds, as he was a playmaker for the Jr. Jays Thursday night. Nevada did an excellent job of finishing off defensive possessions by boxing out, rebounding, finding the outlet, and getting the ball up the floor for quick looks to get easy buckets. Great team win and Coach Eddie Beck is now 2-0 in Jr. Boys basketball this season, he had this to say about the win after the game, "It was fun to get to coach this group for a couple days, Coach Bell does a great job having them prepared, we talked about jumping on them early, built a good lead and sustained it in the second half."

Roberson led the Jays in scoring with 11 points, Trey King had 10 points, Colton Burns and Kyrie Box each had 6 points to pace the Jays offense.

The Junior Jays are back in action on Monday as they travel to Vilonia for a non-conference matchup against a tough Vilonia squad.
