Jr. Lady Saints Perform Well at CCS Tournament, Place 3rd Out of 15 Teams
Magnolia- The Jr. Lady Saints headed back to Columbia Christian School on Saturday for the second time this week for a one-day tournament. GMCS played very well all day as they played 4 pool play games where they went on to qualify for the Gold Bracket later that day. They would go on to beat West Side in straight sets to advance to the Semi-finals to take on Taylor. They would fall just short against the Jr. Tigers and claim third place out of 15 teams.

This group played great all day and displayed a lot of great teamwork, communication, and hard work on the court on Saturday. Blayklee Glass led the team in kills with 10, as well as adding 10 aces as she was very impressive on Saturday. Abby Mendoza led the way with 12 aces at the service line, along with 4 kills, and a team-high 14 digs. Gracie Bullock had a great day serving the ball with 11 aces, including 5 in one match against Smackover. Bullock also added 11 digs and 6 kills as she had some of her best games of the season.

Lexi Crane played great as she piled up 6 aces, 7 digs, and 4 kills at the net as she continues impress this season. Zoe Robertson had 3 kills and 3 aces, Jose Pinner and Mattie Rogers each had 9 digs throughout the tourney, and Olivia Butler had 5 kills and 2 aces as she continues to improve especially around the net.

Overall it was a great day for the GMCS Jr. Lady Saints as I was told it was their programs 1st time to reach the Gold Bracket in this specific tournament. That just shows how impressive this group has been. The Jr. Lady Saints are back in action on Monday as they host Nevada beginning at 4:30.
