Lady Jays Beat GMCS in Straight Sets Monday Night
Nevada- GMCS topped Nevada a week ago in 5 sets, but Nevada had a different plan in mind this week as they beat the Lady Saints in straight sets to earn the victory. "We had big heads last time we played them and we lost, but we came in tonight knowing they were good competition and we had to fight hard to get this win," Jill Pinner said as she spoke on the Lady Jays big win Monday night. The Lady Jays won all three sets, beginning with a 25-13 opening set win, a close 25-23 second set, and them a comeback win in the final set 25-16.

Jill Pinner was all over the floor on Monday night and made some really nice plays around the net for the Lady Jays, but it was at the service line where GMCS had no answer for Pinner as she piled up a ridiculous season-high 17 aces. Alisha Gulley had 5 aces and 2 digs for Nevada, while Karleigh Carlton had 3 aces and made some good sets throughout the game. CJ McCallie had 1 kill and Keirston Burks had 1 ace. It was a big win for Nevada as they are definitely trending upwards as the season is progressing. "It feels really to get the win and we played hard tonight," CJ McCallie said after the game.

Baylee Pogue led the way at the net for GMCS with 5 kills. Gracy Martin had 4 kills, 2 aces, and 2 digs. Silbi Jones had 4 kills and Katie Holland added a kill. Kynlee Glass and Addy Peek each had 3 digs and Holland added 2 digs. Heaven Garcia, Brailyn Almand, and Savannah Fields each had 2 digs. Laila Santifer added a couple of good plays, including a diving play to keep the ball alive. Addy Peek and Savannah Fields led the way serving for the Saints with 5 aces each.

The Lady Jays are back in action on Tuesday for Senior Night against Foreman.
