Local Children Get Bikes, Toys, and Joy at Curry's Community Outreach Ministries

Many local children received a Christmas wish this morning as Curry's Community Outreach Ministries held their annual Christmas event and bike give-away in Prescott. Happy faces and excited chatter was in abundance as the children received bikes and armloads of toys of their very own to take home. As the kiddos eagerly anticipated the beginning of the event, plenty of treats, snacks, and other goodies were available, making for one big happy holiday party.

Earlier in the morning at the awards ceremony for distinguished citizens whose community service made events like this possible, Pastor Ivory Curry said this year's bike give-away and Christmas party was the biggest year yet. With generous contributions made by many citizens and businesses of the area, around 39 bikes and tables full of toys were accumulated for the children. Curry said there has been amazing support from the community for this event.

Every single child who showed up today walked away with a Christmas present. "We want to make sure every child has a smile on his face, and a gift in his hand," Curry said. "This special holiday event is about all children. We're not classifying race or need, but celebrating the community together with all it's people."

And celebrate, they did. The excitement was palpable as each child took his or her turn to walk up to the long row of shiny, new bikes or the tables loaded with a multitude of colorful toys to make a selection. Their utter glee was contagious, and parents, ministry workers, and guests looked on with smiles. Christmas came early for all who attended the Curry's Community Outreach Ministries Christmas party this morning. Bikes, toys, and joy gave these children a holiday party to remember, and their elation and laughter was a Christmas gift, in and of itself, for all who were there to witness.
