NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 22, 2022) - Mae Estes escapes the allure of a man in playful, upbeat new single âI Quit Smokinââ - available now on all digital platforms. The anthem - a fit for anyone thatâs come to realize their worth in a relationship - was co-written by Estes with Paul Sikes (who also produced the track) and Brett Tyler. âI Quit Smokinââ premiered exclusively with Wide Open Country yesterday (6/21), who called the song âa whip-smart barn-burner about seeing right through a no-good lothario at the bar.â

"One of my favorite things about music is the way it can be interpreted so differently by each listener, so I hope everyone gets whatever they want to get out of 'I Quit Smokinâ.' To me, itâs a coming-of-age anthem about not settling for less than you deserve,â Estes told Wide Open Country. âItâs a little less 'traditional' than my previous release, but somehow still feels fresh and familiar to me at the same time.â
Estes most recently released her thought-provoking, classic tune âThinkinâ âBout Cheatinââ - an honest portrayal of temptation The Boot called a âperfectly-textured neotraditional country song,â and praised Estes for sharing âthe very honest and transparent side of her heart.â

About Mae Estes
From the 7-year-old who walked into the middle of a southwest Arkansas rodeo show arena with a cordless microphone and sang the national anthem a cappella, to the college graduate who packed her car for the 400+ mile solo trip to Nashville, Mae Estes has always known that Music City was her destination and writing, recording and performing her destiny. The Hope, Ark., native moved to town in 2015, where sheâs been paying her dues for the last seven years. Taking cues from traditional artists like Lee Ann Womack and Keith Whitley, Mae merges the timelessness of classic country music with modern melodies to create her artistry, both as a songwriter and a performer. In 2020, the stars aligned and Mae signed a deal with Plaid Flag Music. âThe new music we are writing and recording now is not shockingly different,â Mae says, âbut Iâm slowly peeling off more layers. These songs offer glimpses into my life and mind, and I hope they bring me and my audience even closer,â while simultaneously making waves in the industry.
