FAYETTEVILLE - For their outstanding play during this 2020 season, Arkansas Razorbacks senior middle linebacker Grant Morgan of Greenwood has been named one of 16 finalists for the Butkus Award while sophomore Razorbacks receiver Treylon Burks has been added to the Watch List for the Biletnikoff Award.Named for Hall of Fame linebacker Dick Butkus, the Butkus Award postseason honors college football’s best linebacker.The Biletnikoff Award, named for Hall of Fame receiver Fred Biletnikoff, honors college football’s best receiver.Originally a Razorbacks walk-on for former Arkansas Coach Bret Bielema in 2016 and lettering as a reserve for Bielema in 2017 and former Arkansas Coach Chad Morris in 2018 and 2019, Morgan in 2020 as a starter under Coach Sam Pittman, defensive coordinator Barry Odom and linebackers coach Rion Rhoades leads the nation in tackles (104) including 6.5 for losses with two quarterback sacks, one interception, five pass breakups, and two quarterback hurries. He has recorded four games with 15 or more tackles peaking at 19 in Arkansas’ last game, a 27-24 loss to LSU on Nov. 21.Missing one game injured for these 3-5 Razorbacks going into Saturday’s game at Missouri, Burks has caught a team-leading 39 passes for 598 yards and six touchdowns.Burks five times this season has logged 90 receiving yards or better including a peak 137 yards in the 33-21 victory over Ole Miss.
