The Nevada County Quorum Court met for their September meeting last night at the Nevada County Courthouse. With Judge Glass not in attendance, JP Bob Cummings facilitated the meeting. The full meeting can be watched above, but here are a few highlights.
Ordinance 22-A was approved, declaring Falcon Cemetery public property to be managed and cared for by the Falcon Cemetery Association.
Ordinance 22-5 was approved, naming Nevada County Coroner Dave Gummeson as the electrician the county will call on when needing those services.
A community health worker from the Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care, DeeDee McCauley, shared with court members her role and activities in the community. She will be in the area a while to share info about COVID19 and vaccines. On October 6th she is teaming up with Express Pharmacy for an event, promoting vaccines, boosters, flu shots, and mammograms. Plus, she will be at the Fall Festival.
Citizen Joyce Banks shared concerns about the Sheriff's office.
Citizen Thomas McKinnon shared concerns about his road.
Citizen Regina Irizarry asked for info or assistance about strays being dumped in her area, and she had questions about Nevada County resident tax money dedicated to school district zones in other counties.
Citizen Nelson Irizarry addressed court members with concerns regarding the county's financial situation.
