HOPE – Superintendent Dr. Bobby Hart reminds interested residents of Hope Public Schools Board Zone 3 that letters of nomination to fill the board vacancy in Zone 3 are to be received in his office no later than March 12.
Persons interested in serving after the creation of a vacancy on the board by the retirement of Zone 3 Representative and Board President Willie Buck must file a letter of nomination in Dr. Hart’s office to be considered, he said.
Buck did not file for re-election in the March 3 election, and no candidates filed for the position, Hart said.
Under Arkansas school law, the board must fill a vacancy within 30 days of the creation of a vacancy. Hart said the vacancy will not officially occur until after the March 3 school election which is conducted in conjunction with state preferential primary elections.
Hart said letters of nomination should be submitted to his office at 117 E. Second St., Hope, Ar.,71801, before the close of business on March 12.
