Razorback Track Tunes Up

FAYETTEVILLE - At today’s 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Twilight Invitational at John McDonnell Field, the Arkansas Razorbacks men and women’s teams tune up one more time before next week’s May 13-25 SEC Outdoor Track and Field Championships in College Station, Texas.

Several nearby schools also tune up today in Fayetteville their athletes for their upcoming conference championship.

“We’ll be running some distance people an event down just to try and tune up for conference,” Lance Harter, coach of the reigning SEC Outdoor and NCAA Women’s Outdoor champion /2021 SEC and NCAA Indoor women, said.
Bucknam, coaching the reigning SEC Indoor champion Razorbacks men, said, “This is the last chance meet for kids trying to prove themselves for our SEC meet 30-man roster. And get everybody ready to compete next week.”
The tuneups will professionally enhanced. Former Razorbacks Olympic women’s silver medalist pole vaulter Sandi Morris and Ryan Crouse, the Razorbacks men’s volunteer throws coach and record setting shotputter, will tune up their skills competing tonight.

Josh Oglesby, the men’s track sprinter who practiced this spring with Coach Sam Pittman’s football Razorbacks planning to add track speed to the running backs rotation next fall, is back with track for the remainder of spring.
With 2019 All-SEC honors on the 4 x 100 relay, Oglesby apparently has picked up in track where he left off with sprint coach Doug Case’s crew.

“We put him on a B-team 4 x100 first leg and put Phillip Lemonious on it and by the end of the second league our B-team was beating our A-team,” Bucknam said. “So obviously we might be making some switches. It was Josh’s first race and Phillip’s first race since indoors and they did a heck of a job. Josh is behind missing a couple of races but he looked pretty good last week.”
