Razorback Vito Calvaruso in Transfer Portal

Nate Allen

Mr. Automatic as Arkansas’ kickoff man booming them non-returnable out of the end zone, Vito Calvaruso has put his name in the transfer portal so he can kick field goals and extra points, too.

“Thank you Arkansas!” Calvaruso posted Tuesday on Twitter. “Looking for a new opportunity.”

A walk-on freshman from Jefferson City, Mo. earning a scholarship after kicking off in all of Arkansas’ 10 games in 2020, Calvaruso’s bid to be Arkansas’ field goal kicker quickly was eclipsed with heralded freshman Cam Little arriving from Moore, Okla.  Little this season successfully kicked 19 of 23 field goals, including the overtime game-winner against LSU, plus 43 for 43 on PAT.s

Little, punter Reid Bauer, or backup punter Sam Loy, who did kick off twice for the Hogs in 2020, appear the candidates for kickoffs replacing Calvaruso when the 8-4 Razorbacks meet Penn State, Jan. 1 in the Outback Bowl in Tampa, Fla.

Josh Oglesby, the Razorbacks reserve running back and Razorbacks track All-American on the 4x 100 relay, is transferring to Stephen F. Austin University, Oglesby posted Tuesday on Twitter.

Oglesby had recently put his name in the transfer portal.
