FAYETTEVILLE - Already a remarkable story rushing through high school as a December graduate and instantly becoming the second baseman on an Arkansas Razorbacks baseball team fresh off two College World Series seasons, Robert Moore’s remarkable performances in the 4-game sweep over Gonzaga earned him SEC Co-Player of the Week.
The SEC Office in Birmingham, Ala. Monday announced freshman second baseman Moore of Leawood, Kan. and Texas A&M’s Bryce Blaum as its Co-Players of the Week.
Moore went 8 for 12 with nine RBI, and a home run, double, four walks, four runs scored and stole two bases in the last Thursday through Sunday series that Arkansas won, 7-5, 9-3, 5-0 and 9-5 at Baum-Walker Stadium.
Coach Dave Van Horn’s 7-0 Razorbacks travel to the Houston Astros Minute Maid Park for the Shriners Classic Friday through Sunday playing the Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Longhorns and Baylor Bears.
