McAllen, TX – Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge concluded her briefing at the southern border Friday morning with a boat tour of the Rio Grande River with the Texas Department of Public Safety. There, Rutledge got a firsthand look at the mission to protect America’s border and safeguard our communities from illegal, deadly drugs like fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine. Attorney General Rutledge joined Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and 11 other attorneys general along the border to receive briefings from U.S. Customs and Border Patrol, Texas Department of Public Safety and other officials. Rutledge also toured the U.S.-Mexico border wall.

“Illicit deadly drugs such as fentanyl pass through our southern border and are dispersed within hours to communities across Arkansas,” said Attorney General Rutledge. “Until President Biden gets serious about securing the border, our families will not be safe from the scourge of illegal drugs killing our young people at an alarming rate.”
