Rutledge Joins Texas Governor Greg Abbott at Southern Border

McAllen, TX-- Arkansas Attorney General Leslie Rutledge today joined Texas Governor Greg Abbott, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton and 11 other attorneys general from across the country to see firsthand the crisis at the southern border. Thursday, Attorney General Rutledge met with Texas officials, including the Texas Department of Public Safety who work vigorously to protect the border.

“The Biden Administration has failed the American people by its failure to secure the border. In the first year of the Biden Administration, unlawful border crossings have increased over 140% resulting in the influx of illicit drugs such as fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine which Arkansas officers have seized," said Attorney General Rutledge. "As Attorney General, I will stand strong with officials from across the country to defend the rule of law to protect our communities."

On Friday, Attorney General Rutledge will continue her tour of the southern border followed by holding a press conference where she will make an announcement related to the ongoing border crisis.
