Mayor Don Still said a few words to kick off the celebration, “I’d like to welcome you to downtown Hope. You should be proud of this. I don't know how long this place was empty, but it wasn't long enough for me to even know it was closed and reopened. I hope you have plenty of success. It's just great having you here in downtown,” Mayor Still said.
Still then invited owner Brittany Bobo to step up and say a few words: “So our hours are starting out today on grand opening, we're only going to be open from 10 AM to 4 PM and then starting tomorrow, we're going to hit our regular hours, so that's going to be 10 AM to 7 PM. In the coming weeks, we are going to start a breakfast service so we can have something rolling in downtown early in the morning. We are so excited,” Bobo said.
At the request of Bobo, everyone then joined hands as the owner of the new establishment and said a mighty prayer with those present.
Executive Director of the Hope Hempstead County Chamber of Commerce, Christy Burns said, “It is nice to see another eatery in downtown Hope. We are all excited to try out the food today and come back for more. We are super excited for Brittany and wish her all the success in the world.”
The ribbon was cut and everyone headed inside the quaint café to check out everything it has to offer.
