An organization new to Hope Farmers' Market hosted the hospitality table today: The Bridge. The Bridge, a component of Rainbow of Challenges, is a community engagement organization that provides services helping those who are seeking to join the workforce. They help people get jobs, provide workforce safety training, help with resumes, and much more. Lori Thompson, the Workforce Coordinator at The Bridge, said she was excited to join the Market today. "I love the Farmers' Market!" said Thompson. "I'm so glad to be here and meet all these nice people. Our group wants to share the great services this organization has to offer." The hospitality table was decked out with goodies, drinks, and tons of info about this community-minded organization. One can't talk about the Farmers' Market, though, without discussing those fresh fruits and veggies brought to the community each week by the local farmers. It might be late in the season, but there's still plenty fresh, locally-grown produce to go around. Present today were Heirloom farms, Salinas farms, Young Sprouts, and Marilyn's Plants. Also there was David Langston with his jams and jellies, the Mint Man with his mint goodies, Aunt Fern with her fried pies, and Carolyn's Kitchen with her baked goods. Last, but certainly not least, the Three Little E's Farm joined the Market again today. Those three little cuties (Emma, Evan, and Ella) planted, grew, picked, and are now selling those watermelons themselves. The Hope Farmers' Market takes place at the Hub every Tuesday morning from 7am to 11am. Come on out for some fresh produce, a cup of coffee, or just a quick hello while supporting these local farms and other vendors from the community.
