At approximately 4:40 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, Central Dispatch received a call to an accident in Fulton near the Red River Truck Stop on Highway 67.
Upon arriving, officers observed a white Ford Expedition resting on top of a gold Honda Pilot in the west bound ditch, as well as a white Audi on the west bound shoulder.
According to early information at the scene, the Expedition was travelling east while the Honda and Audi were travelling west. The Honda attempted to make a left turn onto Red Lake Road. The Expedition moved to the west bound lane to avoid the Honda.
The Honda decided against the turn, as maintained its position in the west bound lane. The Expedition attempted to avoid the accident, but struck the front of the Honda and sent both vehicles into the ditch.
The Expedition, in the process of flipping, struck the left front of the Audi before landing on the Honda. Drivers of the Honda and Expedition were transported to hospitals in Texarkana. The Audi driver was uninjured.
The accident is being investigated by the Arkansas State Police, who were assisted on scene by Hempstead County Sheriff Deputies, the Fulton Volunteer Fire Department, Guernsey Volunteer Fire Department, and Hope Fire Department.
