The Hempstead County Quorum Court met for their February meeting last night and the full meeting can be watched above. Here are a few highlights. 

Court members approved Ordinance 2023-1 to transfer and appropriate funds within the differing budgets for miscellaneous items.  

Representative Danny Watson and HCEDC Director Steve Harris gave an update about the possible building of a prison in Hempstead County. While it is not yet a certainty, Watson and Harris outlined the latest details in this process, as well as a few of the next steps needed before the issue can be determined one way or another.
