Served at the coffee, starting at 9:30 a.m. were scrumptious breakfast burritos; several varieties of pastries; fruit cups combining blueberries, strawberries, pineapple and grapes; bundt cake and beverages including apple, cran-grape and orange juice.. Ana Johnson said she was the one in charge of all the food and beverage selections.
“Being that I'm Hispanic, that's where we get the breakfast tacos and the salsas from. But I know that we all enjoy good company and good food, and to interact with one another and get to know each other as a community,” she said.
Asked what drew her to dog grooming, Johnson said, “I’ve always had a passion for animals. If it wasn't for being a young mother that I was, I would have probably become a vet by now, but if anything, I've always liked working with puppies, helping them out and making them look their best.”
Ana has been grooming dogs for about 20 years. She originally hails from San Diego, having grown up as a Navy brat, she said, but has lived in Austin and Texarkana before moving to Hope. Her experience making dogs look good includes work on them under the highest of stakes. She used to travel with them to dog shows.
“Now that I'm of age and my kids are grown and married, I want to do one dog at a time from my home, and just focus on them and making them look their best," Johnson said. If your Fido or Princess needs a glow-up, call Ana Johnson at 1 (903) 277-2363 to set up an appointment.
