Hope struck first on a nice cross from Bradley Brown to Lalo Leyva, who snuck the ball past the GK of Robinson to give Hope a 1-0 lead. Moments later, sophomore Jacob Pacheco made a spectacular save to keep the Bobcats ahead at the half.
With the score still 1-0 in favor of Hope, GK Pacheco was given a red card, and the Bobcats had to play a man down, and that man was their starting GK. Elias Martinez came in at GK and made numerous big plays for the Bobcats, but playing 10 vs 11 gave the Senators the advantage they needed to tie the game, and eventually win it with just 2 seconds remaining on the clock.
The Bobcats fought valiantly down a man and Robinson needed all 30 minutes to make up the goal they needed to secure the win. This squad of Bobcats displayed their fight and played with a lot of intensity on Tuesday night. The defense of Gio Ruiz and Dylan Mercado really stood out on that side of the ball, as the Bobcats defense is one of the strong points of this team.
The Bobcats are back in action this weekend in Clarksville at the Clarksville Invitational.
