Downtown LIVE is a monthly event focused on Texarkana’s historic commercial district. This is a great time to come Downtown to visit a variety of retail stores and businesses while local artists and performers share their creativity along Broad Street. Downtown business owners open their doors for special hours, offering sales, activities, and deals for the evening. One such business owner is Cookie Kelley, also known as Coach Cookie, who operates Resilience Studio in the historic Watson Shoe building, 121 E. Broad Street.
“Resilience Studios participates in Downtown LIVE to let the community see we are here! We love to have fun!” said Coach Cookie, “And fitness does not have to be blah! We offer fun fitness which includes line dancing, hip hop aerobic step, and pole fitness.”
For the May 9 Downtown Live, Resilience Studio is offering classes for popular dances “Boots on the Ground” and “Country Girl.” They will also be selling the infamous popping fans and offering 25% off membership or private parties to anyone who signs up during Downtown LIVE!

● The Stained Page is hosting live music by Roger LaPointe. Grab a coffee and a book and have fun!
● That Vintage Vibe is offering 15% off the entire store along with live music by Jim Reed.
● Southern Grace is handing out free bags of York candied pecans to everyone who comes in!
● Prodigy is hosting a Girls Night Out with Botox and Vitamin shots, cocktails, and light appetizers with Special Reserve performing out front
Darlene Taylor and Colton “Widow” Barker will be on hand creating amazing art while you watch. Take time to have a bite at one of Downtown’s locally owned restaurants such as Pecan Point, Zapata’s, Varona’s, Cafe Lucille, and Joe’s Italian Bistro, all located in beautiful historic buildings that are a window into Texarkana’s past. There’s plenty of night life too with the 1923 Banana Club, The Wild Hare, The HIdeout, and Hopkins Ice House.
Downtown LIVE! is held 6-9 p.m. every 2nd Friday of the month and brings together art, music, and business to provide an evening of fun, food, and shopping.
