Ten Piranhas will attend this year’s Junior Olympic Games held in Houston July 21st-27th. These ten Piranhas will join racers from Arkansas and Texarkana to become Team Arkansas and will race swimmers from all across the United States. Some teams travel as far as Alaska and Guam.
Last year, the Piranhas section of Team Arkansas made it to the podium, with a top eight finish, and brought home five medals from the JO Games, which is a major feat considering they are racing against year-round swim clubs.
The Piranhas will have some returning veterans and new faces competing this year with Team Arkansas.
The Piranhas are under the direction of Coaches Amy Miller and Kelly Wilcox. We are amazed at how hard these kids work every summer just to be able to compete at this level.
