Clara Ann “Na-Na” Merritt
Ann Merritt, age 65 of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away Saturday April 16, 2022, in Texarkana, Texas. Ann was born in Texarkana, Texas, on December 19, 1956 to John D. Karney and Bess Hutcheson. She graduated Hope High School in 1975. She then went to Red River Vo-Tech, then later in the years finished her degree and graduated from Red River Tech College. Ann was loved by so many people. Anyone who met her knew how big her heart was. We all can say, “She never met a stranger”. She had so much compassion to help others. She was so proud of her grandchildren, they was her world.
She was preceded in death by her father, John D Karney; step-father Willard Walker; mother, Bess Walker; husband Danny James Merritt.
Mrs. Ann is survived by her sons, Earl Ray Cox Jr of Athens, AL and Larry Cox (Mary Bobo) of Hope, AR; daughter, Aimee Wooten (Jeremy Wooten); bonus son, Ronnie Dyer of Stamps, AR; step-daughters Angelia and Carrie Merritt of West Monroe, LA; brother Dan Karney of Texarkana, AR; grandchildren, Tristyn Gilbert, Kirstyn Gilbert, Coady Wooten, Hunter Wooten, Marley Kay Bobo, Braylen Cox and Kayden Cox, Kaitlyn Copeland, Chad Copeland, and one great granddaughter, Aurbie Grace McManus.
There will be no services. A memorial is in the making, information is to come. In honor of her memory, she would want you to donate to the local animal shelters in her name.
