Celebrating the Life of

Kaneasha Marie Ellis

"NeNe"

Kaneasha "Nene" Ellis, a beloved mother, daughter, sister, cousin, and friend, passed away on July 4, 2024, at the age of 33. She was born on October 24, 1990, in Hope, Arkansas, and most recently resided in Little Rock, AR.

Kaneasha had a zest for life and a heart full of love. Her favorite pastimes included reading, teaching her daughter Haivyn Marie anything and everything possible, and exploring her newfound passions for gardening and baking. She had a strong appreciation for good food, with Popeyes and spaghetti being among her favorites.

Books and music held a special place in Kaneasha's heart, and she found solace and joy in the sounds of Adele, Erykah Badu, Future, Silk, Calvin Richardson, Willie Neal Johnson, and the Gospel Keynotes. Kaneasha's favorite place in the world was being at home, surrounded by loved ones. She also held a special fondness for Riviera Maya, where she would eat and enjoy time with her friends. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching TV shows and movies like Grey's Anatomy, Bridgerton, Blacklist, Sex and the City, and Hunger Games. As a dedicated football fan, Kaneasha passionately supported the Philadelphia Eagles. Above all else, she cherished her daughter Haivyn Marie and treasured the time they spent together.

Professionally, Kaneasha was a Registered Nurse, having attended Clark Atlanta University, UALR, and Arkansas State University Three Rivers. She was a 2009 graduate of J.A. Fair High School. She spent the past six years as an employee of Centene Corporation. However, her proudest accomplishment was her beloved daughter Haivyn Marie, whom she loved and cherished unconditionally. Kaneasha also enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, socializing, and creating lasting memories.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents Runnie Mae Ellis, Oscar Henry Ellis Jr., and Milon Keels; her great-grandmother Betty Jo Johnson; nephew Major Amir Thompson; two uncles, Thomas Ellis and Oscar Henry III; and cousins, CJ Ellis and Ryan Carter.

Kaneasha leaves a legacy of love that will continue to live on through her precious daughter, Haivyn Mallory; her loving parents, Mandy Thornton and Stephen Thornton; her biological father, Antiwon Keels; her siblings, Tavoris Thornton, Yameshia Thornton, Precious Thornton, Crystal Thompson (Marine), Stevonda Thornton, Katro Keels, Nicka Keels-James (Donald), London Keels, Tristan Keels, Analeesa Keels, and bonus sister Chloe Graham; her nephews and nieces, Cameron Smith, Jeremiah Rudd, Marleigh Thompson, Khloe Thornton, Jayden Thornton, Kanden Keels, Donald James III, A’Zariah James, Koli Keels, Da’Vinci Keels, Londynn Keels, and Milannia Pettway; sisters/cousins, Michelle Ellis and Melissa Ellis; her favorite aunt, Cecelia Willis (Aunt Cooker) [Mark]; along with a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
