Kay King Stark

Kay King Stark

Kay passed away peacefully on August 12, 2022, with her son by her side.

She was born in Little Rock, Arkansas, on July 27, 1936, to Marguerite and Karl King Jr.

Kay spent her childhood in Prescott, Arkansas. She was the first Nevada County Fair Queen.

Kay met Johnny Stark and they married July 30, 1955. A son, Jonathan, soon followed and a daughter, Kim, was born two years later. Kay loved being a mother. Her sweet and gentle nature made her a wonderful Mama, Granny, and Mimi to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Kay worked many years at Nevada County Hospital. She loved reading and crossword puzzles.

Kay was a calming factor in our family. We are comforted knowing she is free of pain and reunited with Johnny and her Savior Jesus Christ.

Kay is survived by her son Jonathan (Nancy) Stark of North Little Rock and daughter Kim (David) Gordon of Prescott; granddaughters, Stacey (Adam) Hall of Little Rock and Samantha (Justin) Jernigan of Texarkana; great-grandchildren, Jacy and Easton Jernigan of Texarkana and Sadie and Henry Hall of Little Rock; sister, Genevieve Jones of Prescott and several nieces and nephews.

A private family burial will be held later this month. Memorials can be made to Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
