On Friday, June 25, 2021, Morris Dean Vines, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, lovingly called “Papa”, passed away in Dallas, Texas at the age of 82. He was born September 25, 1938, in Bodcaw, Arkansas, the son of Earl C. and Ruby Dorman Vines. He was retired from Red River Army Depot, and was a member of Union Baptist Church in Bodcaw, Arkansas. He was an ordained deacon.
On May 17, 1957, he married the love of his life, his high school sweetheart, Carolyn Joy Butler. He was known for his quick wit, his unique sense of humor, his infectious smile, and his kind and compassionate spirit.
He is preceded in death by his parents. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Carolyn Joy Vines of Dallas, Texas; two daughters, Cheryl Terry (Rick) of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and Tonya Brown (Barry) of Dallas, Texas; one son, Morris Vines II (Sheila) of Huntsville, Arkansas. Five grandsons: Jacob Elliott, Peyton Terry (Lauren), Hunter Vines (Jacie), Cade Vines, and Jeb Brown. Four great-grandchildren: Ava Elliott, Ethan Elliott, Asher Elliott, and Harper Terry. Two sisters, Morine Butler of Longview, Texas and Brenda Eggleston of Galax, Virginia.
