Rebecca Frances Stuart, 66 of Washington, Arkansas, died June 21, 2022, after a brief illness. Becca was born October 19, 1955, in Hope, Arkansas to Crit and Ida Stuart. She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother Daniel Joseph Stuart.
Becca is survived by two daughters, Samantha Allen Patterson (husband Tony Patterson) and Jessica Fry; five grandchildren, Madison, Jayden and Katie Halsell, and Tyler and Grace Patterson; two brothers, Crit Stuart (husband Stuart Strenger) and Jim Stuart (wife Julie Turner), and sister, Catherine Rowe (husband Dwayne Rowe).
Becca spent 31 years as an RN working in many capacities: ICU, labor / delivery, and hospice care at Medical Park Hospital; supporting a United Nations Nursing Corp in Kosovo; and as a supervising floor nurse and clinical documentation specialist for the Scripps Health System in San Diego. She retired from nursing in 2020. Becca served on the Washington City Council as Alderman, and was an engaged member of P.E.O., a philanthropic educational organization that provides scholarships and loans to women.
At retirement, Becca fulfilled a life-long dream of owning a cafe, Jolly’s, where she showcased her love and talent for baking. She loved gardening, craft work and entertaining family and friends. Darts anyone?
As a shy person, Becca attempted to avoid the limelight, but her unique sense of humor, concern for the welfare of others and natural beauty made her easy to love. Her smile lit up a room. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.
A celebration of Becca’s life will be held Sunday, June 26, 2:00pm at the Washington Presbyterian Church on Lawrence Street. All are welcome.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the PEO Foundation https://donations.peointernational.org/peo-donation-foundation.
The family thanks Becca’s nurses at Christus St. Michaels in Texarkana for their special efforts.
