Richard Gerald Whitley, 84, of Hope, AR passed away Saturday, September 25, 2021, in Texarkana, TX. He was born March 6, 1937, in Hope, AR to Jewel Olin Whitley and Odell Faulkner Whitley. Gerald was a godly man who was admired by many and adored by his family.

Mr. Whitley is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers Wayne Whitley and Charles (Chuck) Whitley, and two grandsons Logan Whitley Medlen and Trent McKamie.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years Carolyn Whitley; two daughters Hannah Whitley Addington (Mark) of Texarkana, Amanda Whitley McKamie (Marty) of Hope; four grandsons:  Layton Whitley Medlen (Kalynn), Quinn Ruston Addington, and Ethan ‘Whit’ Whitley  Addington all of Texarkana; Chase McKamie (April) of Hope, and the apple of his eye- his great-granddaughter Whitley Kate Medlen, as well as numerous other family and friends.

Graveside services will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10:00 AM with Bro. Daniel Bramlett officiating under the direction of Herndon-Fuqua Funeral Homes of Hope.
