On Sunday, April 4, 1965 in Amarillo, Texas, a beautiful baby boy was born to Robert David Tucker Sr. and Barbara Faye Tucker. They named him Robert David Tucker Jr., the fourth child of the union. When Robert Jr. was in the 8th grade, he attended Giddings Junior High School in Giddings, TX where he was on the football team. After moving to Arkansas, Robert Jr. went on to graduate from Nashville High School with the Class of 1984. He also attended Henderson State University a short time after.
In 1987, Robert Jr. was honorably discharged from the Army National Guard and the United States Navy. Then on June 15, 1991, Robert Jr. married Sandra Elaine Tucker. They were married for 31 years and they shared two daughters, Tracy and LaTasha.
Giving back, Robert Jr. was the Superintendent of True Deliverance House of Prayer where Bishop Andrew Hawthorne is the pastor. Robert Jr. also worked at Tyson Foods for 13 years, before moving to Arlington, TX where he worked as a forklift driver at Penske Logistics until his health failed. On Thursday, July 14, 2022, at the age of 57, God picked a flower to add to his garden. He will be dearly missed.
Robert Jr. was preceded in death by: his dads, Robert David Tucker Sr. and Charles Thurman; sisters, Barbara Tucker and Sheree Foster; brothers, Charles and Charlie Thurman; grandmothers, Gertrude Kilgore, Velma Lilly, Annie Thurman, and Elizabeth Tucker; and uncle, James English.
A lifetime of memories will remain with his wife, Sandra Elaine Tucker; daughters, Tracy (James) Pleasant and LaTasha (Chad) Pleasant; grandkids, Alaza Johnson, Takevyona Pleasant, Skylar Reed and Tylien Wheeler; great grandkids, Taevyn Hicks and Tae’lani Cummings; mother, Barbara Thurman; brothers, Don Thurman, Jeff Thurman, Daniel (Charlene) Hampton; sisters, Vel Cole, Arletha (Ray) Mcmorris, Shawana (Corey) Cooper; mother-in-law, Joyce Pleasant; brother-in-laws, Kenneth (Theresa) Pleasant, Derrick Pleasant, Patrick (Beverly) Pleasant; sister-in-law, Lisa Griffin; special friends, Travis Walker and James Cole Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, close relatives, and friends.
