Vernell Delila Green McKelvy Loe, age 91, passed away March 21, 2021 at Hillcrest Nursing and Rehab in Prescott.
Mrs. Loe was born at Cale, Arkansas April 4, 1929 to the late Luchus Berry and Tena Helsel Green.
She worked as a homemaker, farm worker, and was manager of the Prescott Farm Store for several years. She served as mayor of Bluff City from 2001 to 2013. She loved gardening, growing flowers, and crafts. She was a member of the Bluff City Church of Christ, where she taught classes for the young children.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ruel McKelvy; her second husband, Olen Loe; three brothers, Lonnie D. Green, Imon Lee Green, and James D. Green; two sisters, Mae Belle Green and Helen May.
She is survived by a step-son, who was like a son to her, Jerry McKelvy and wife Jeanie of Camden; two sons, Billy Ray McKelvy and wife Robbie of DeQueen, Arkansas, Eddy Gene McKelvy, wife Connie of Bluff City, Arkansas; one brother, Homer Green, wife Janice of Rosston, Arkansas; two sisters, Betty Tomlin, husband Dent of Rosston, Arkansas, Marie Bussell, husband Kenneth of Camden, Arkansas; three grandsons, Adam McKelvy (Ashley), Joseph McKelvy (Elizabeth), Daniel McKelvy (Jade); one granddaughter, Ashley McKelvy; three great-grandsons, Garrett, Bennett and Ruel; two great-granddaughters, Ella and Lorraine; several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Due to Covid restrictions, all attendees should wear masks and practice social distancing at the visitation and funeral service.
Visitation will be 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Friday, March 26, 2021 at Brazzel/Cornish 1196 Hwy 371 West Prescott, Arkansas, 71857.
Funeral service will be 10:00am on Saturday, March 27, 2021 at Bluff City Church of Christ, with Bro. Phil Rowen officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Bluff City.
