2024 Watermelon Festival Week Got Underway with Downtown Parade
The cameras of SWARK.Today were in the right spot on South Main and East Third to see Monday evening’s 48th Annual Watermelon Festival Parade.

The line of participants began with Hope Police Chief Kim Tomlin and Hempstead County Sheriff James Singleton riding in shiny vehicles side by side. Then it proceeded in a mix of civic club vehicles, like that of the Hope Lions Club, and chrome showcases of those who will appear in the 18th Annual Miss and Mister Watermelon Festival Pageant Tuesday night in the Hope City Hall’s Klipsch Auditorium starting at 6:00 p.m. (No admission fee.)

Our photos below capture every parade participant. They are presented in the order in which they appeared.
