Marcos Santiago, holding the ceremonial scissors, along with mother Estela Luna, on his right, and brother Cesar Santos, masked, cut the ribbon on their new bakery, Dos Caminos, located at 112 South Elm Street.
A crowd gathered Thursday morning at 112 South Elm Street to watch the ribbon cutting of Dos Caminos Bakery in downtown Hope. The bakery's owner, Estela Luna, always had a passion for baking, and spent years practicing her craft. She sold baked bread home to home for about six years, according to her son, bakery manager Marcos Santiago. Luna has been baking for years, testing her delicious creations on Santiago and his brother, Cesar Santos. The bakery's name, Dos Caminos, is a tribute to Luna's home town of Dos Caminos Guerrero. The trio offer cakes, cookies, confectionaries, and, according to Santiago, 56 types of pastries, with more selections coming for the holidays.
