Blue Jays Open Season with 74-37 Over Columbia
Columbia- Head Coach Jamario Bell started his coaching career at Nevada off on the right foot, as the Blue Jays ran way with the season opener with a 37-point victory over Columbia Christian on Friday night to give Coach Bell his first win at Nevada. The Blue ays hit the floor running and scored 42 points in the first half to hold a decisive lead at the half. They would score another 32 points in the 2nd half to leave Columbia with a win, as they doubled up Columbia 74-37, with five different Blue Jays scoring double-digits. Brycten Harris led Nevada offensively as he scorched the net for 18 points, Harris also had 7 boards and 3 assists. Cardi Adair wasted no time in recording his first double-double of the year as he went for 16 points and 10 rebounds. Keyonte Wingfield had a great all-around game as he filled the stat sheet with 11 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals. Kavion Coleman recorded 11 points and 6 boards. Kobe Hughey had 8 points and 5 rebounds, and Brogan Rhodes made his presence felt in the paint as he had 8 rebounds and 2 blocks, along with 2 points. Nevada is back in action on Tuesday as they travel to Ouachita. 

The Jr. Blue Jays also earned a victory Friday night as they were firing on all cylinders, winning 69-55 as four Blue Jays scored in double figures. Monti Mixon led the way with 20 points for Nevada. Rico Aparicio scored 14 points, Jakari Roberson finished the game with 12, and Aamri Mitchell added 10 points as the Jr. Blue Jays offense was very impressive Friday night.
