Hope- The Bobcats (2-4) (1-2) head into a very important week 7 matchup with the Rams (5-2) (2-1) as they travel to Lakeside Friday night. Hope looks to get back on track this week after a couple of tough outings against Hot Springs and Parkview. When asked about the importance of this game Coach Turner said, “It’s a huge game, win we’re in playoff contention, I have been telling our guys this week that this is a playoff game.” “We have to get focused and get locked in and take care of Hope, and I believe we will come home with a win”, Turner said Wednesday, so look for the Bobcats to come out with the intensity that they have showed earlier in the season. Senior Romelo Ford spoke on the offense, “Offense is going to do their thing, Coach E is the best OC in the state, so we have some things ready.” Tyler Patterson and the Bobcats look to get back to lighting the scoreboard up this Friday, expect Patterson to get the ball out quickly and make the Rams tackle these offensive weapons of the Bobcats in space. WR Isaac Love could be poised for a huge game this week, as he is a mismatch for opposing secondaries week in and week out. The offensive line looked good Wednesday at practice, hungry to get back to controlling the game in the trenches.
Senior Jalen Staggers had this to say about the defense this week, “We’re dominating, Coach Clark is the best coach out there.” Staggers also spoke on being the homecoming opponent of Lakeside this week, “They’re going to regret this.” The defense has been full of energy all week long and are up for the challenge this week. “The defense has been locked in all week”, Phillip Turner said on Wednesday. Look for the Bobcat secondary to make some plays this week, and also some more great play from Juan Ortiz, KD Gulley, and Jalen Staggers. Senior kicker Brency Cabriales said Wednesday, “Expect a lot of hard work Friday night.” Hope appeared to be locked-in Wednesday at practice and the players know the importance of this game. Expect the Bobcats to come out swinging early Friday. Kickoff is set for 7PM. Go Bobcats!!
