At Firemen Park Friday night, the Emmet Vision Association and the City of Emmet organized a musical and food-serving Independence Day celebration. Food trucks lined the area as Night Hawk Band delivered classic country rock and closed out its set with "Where the Stars and Stripes and the Eagle Flies."

After this, in a field to the south of the park, a fireworks show began just after 9:00 p.m. that featured swirls of colors, bright exploding sparks and booming thunder. We were there with our camera for it all.
